Ground Water Laboratory
Ground Water LabThe 922 sq. ft. Ground Water Laboratory in Ag Hall is adjacent to faculty and student offices. It contains a variety of equipment used in the characterization of soils and aquifer materials, and for experimentation in water flow and contaminant transport. Test equipment includes soil pressure cells, hanging columns, leaching columns, peristaltic and syringe pumps, a liquid fraction collector and a soil shear. Analysis instruments include, water baths, shakers, centrifuges, a gas chromatograph and wide spectrum photospectrometer. A secure room houses a gamma ray computerized tomography scanner used in the analysis of porous media structure. Visit Dr. Glenn Brown's home page for examples of some of the research performed here.
