OSU Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Faculty have recently been honored with four awards from the American Society of Agricultural Engineering, (ASAE).

Marvin L. Stone, was selected as the 1999 ASAE Distinguished Lecturer along with co-authors K.D. McKee, C.W. Formwalt and R.K. Benneweis in recognition of their service to the profession. Dr. Stone presented the lecture, "ISO 11783: An Electronic Communications Protocol For Agricultural Equipment" at the ASAE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC) and at the ASAE international meeting this year. The lecture, the 23rd in the series, presented the concept of distributed networks and information systems for agricultural equipment. Two awards were given to papers authored by OSU Biosystems Engineers. These awards placed their papers in the top 5% of the 299 papers accepted for publication in the Transactions of ASAE. Papers receiving the awards were;

"Effect of Parameter Distributions on Uncertainty Analysis of Hydrologic Models", (Transactions of the ASAE, Vol. 41, No. 1).

Finally, OSU Agricultural Extension received an ASAE Educational Aids Blue Ribbon for their video entitled "Cattle Handling Safety".
