After 33 years of service to the Department and
University, Dr. Gerald Brusewitz officially retires April 5, 2002.
Starting as an Assistant Professor in 1969, Jerry rose to the
rank of Regents Professor, the highest honor bestowed on a faculty
member by the University. He taught and conducted research in
post-harvest and food processing and was active in a number of
University committees.
Despite his official retirement , Dr. Brusewitz has graciously volunteered to continue serving as the Graduate Coordinator for the department. Beginning July 1, we anticipate that Dr. Brusewitz will be "rehired" to work part-time. In addition to the Graduate Coordinator role, he will have teaching responsibilities and will also work on wrapping up research programs and completing work with his graduate student advisees.
