John Tyner, Ph.D. candidate in Biosystems Engineering was given the 2001 Phoenix Award by the Graduate and Professional Student Association of Oklahoma State University at a banquet on 4/12/01. Each year, the GPSA honors one master's student, one doctoral student and a graduate faculty member who embody the characteristics of leadership, scholarship, and involvement with and concern for the University and the community. The recipients were selected from applicants nominated by other graduate students or graduate faculty. The Phoenix Award is the highest award given by the GPSA to honor graduate students and faculty at OSU. Thus, the recipients represent the best of Oklahoma State University.

Besides a pat on the back and another line for the resume, John received a cool plaque and a $300 cash award.

Congratulations John!
