Several good things happened for our students at this year’s annual ASAE International meeting.
Candi Johnson elected National President
Candi Johnson, OSU BAE senior and immediate past president of the OSU ASAE student branch, was elected National President of the Pre-Professional Branch of ASAE.
Senior Design Team takes 2nd in national competition
The team of Scott Schneider, Mary Crawford, and Matthew Simpson finished 2nd place in the AGCO National Competition for Student Design. Competition consisted of the team’s final written report and an oral presentation. The team’s senior design project, sponsored by the US Corps of Engineers, consisted of designing a method for creating an island that will provide appropriate habitat for a Least Tern.
Alumni and Friends Social big hit at ASAE
The first Alumni & Friends Social was held at a local Las Vegas restaurant during the ASAE meeting. Seventy-five alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students renewed old friendships and started new ones. Plans are to continue this new tradition at future ASAE annual meetings.
Fountain Wars has OSU roots
The first ASAE student team competition for design and development of a water fountain was held this year. The OSU team scored third place in the competition. Dr. Mike Kizer was the faculty advisor for the team.
